Becoming a Sugar Skull

Happy Halloween!!! Here are some step by step photos I took while getting ready for an event. The purple eyeshadow I used is Gravity by Urban Decay and I'm wearing purple blush by Jordana in Raspberry Ice. The lipstick is Madrid by Napoleon Perdis.
The event was yesterday and even though it was very small, I still enjoyed myself. There were many beautiful alters to look at. There was one dedicated to Cantinflas, who was a Mexican actor and I thought it was very cute. Here's a picture of that:
I hope everyone has a wonderful day and I'll be posting a lot more in the next few days so keep an eye out.

Lily Munster

Just entered a Munsters make-up contest on Facebook. I had so much fun putting this look together. I love the Munsters. I have an uncle that has called me Eddie Munster since I was younger because of my widow's peak. Well...wish me luck!

Painful Pimples

I sometimes get super painful and large pimples on my face and they make me so uncomfortable. They usually are on my cheek so it hurts to even smile sometimes. I've read that green tea is good for minimizing these and I decided to give it a try since I drink a cup every morning anyway. This is very simple, all you do is brew for tea as usual and lay the bag over the irritated area for a few minutes. My skin already feels a lot better and it feels like the pimple might be smaller.

Shiny!

I'm still a little girl at heart and I absolutely love wearing glitter. Sometimes, though, I feel like I'm wearing too much and I feel kind of silly. I have met my new favorite body spray. It's Midnight Pomegranate by Bath and Body Works, which I love, and adds a subtle sparkle to your skin. The Halloween bottle adds a cute touch too. I'm totally in love with this stuff and I'm going to stock up now that it's on sale.

Pure MAGIC!

I have been using the same face wash for over 2 years and I have my reasons. I first discovered this soap through a friend in high school. She recommended I use it on piercings. It definitely helped the healing process. I read the bottle and it said you can use it for just about anything. I have kind of oily skin, so I figured I'd try it as a face wash. First of all, I noticed that it smells very clean and refreshing and by the time I had rinsed my face off, I felt clean and refreshed. It's good for removing make-up and just about anything else you need to rid your skin of. My skin has improved a lot since then and I have only used this product consistently since then. Best of all, it's inexpensive and completely VEGAN!! I highly recommend Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap. It's available at Target, Trader Joe's and online:

Homecoming

Last Saturday was my little sister's homecoming dance. She was patient enough to let me do her make-up again this year. She looked so pretty! I felt proud dropping her off. This is what I came up with:

I started off by using Urban Decay's Primer Potion in Sin. Then I used the new Book of Shadows for her eyeshadow. I used Sin on her lids, Gravity on her crease, and Zephyr in the inner corners of her eyelids. I gave her the cat-eye look with Urban Decay's 24/7 liquid eyeliner in Perversion and topped it all off with some make-up setting spray by Urban Decay called All Nighter. I love this stuff! After a night of dancing and then sleeping in, here's what her make-up looked like in the morning:

Breast Cancer Awareness month

Every year, many companies do their part to raise awareness about breast cancer and help contribute money to help those in need. This year, I decided to buy a couple things. Last year, Ulta had Bedhead hairsprays available at a lower price for the month of October. I was very happy to see that they did so again this year so I picked up a can. Also at Ulta, they have OPI's shatter nail polish in this very pretty hot pink color called Pink of Hearts. I grabbed a bottle of that as well because I'd been curious about it. I'm very pleased with it and love that it works beautifully. I also picked up some pink safety pins at Jo-ann and stuck them on some of my clothes and things. Here is a picture of my nails right now, I know I paint nails like a little girl, but oh well.

Mascara and Vegetarianism.

Yesterday was National Hug a Vegetarian Day. I've been a vegetarian for a little over 2 years now. It's really not that hard to eat healthy this way despite popular belief. I recommend this lifestyle for anyone who cares about animals as much as I do.
On another note...I had a free sample of Sephora's Full Action Extreme Effect Mascara and decided to try it  out for once. It dries a lot faster than my Almay mascara but I'm not sure if this will be my new favorite.
