Glittersniffer!!: Mini Halloween collection

It's about time I get around to trying this stuff out! I got this in the mail a little while ago and I've been dying to try it. I've been working and doing other things so my pretties have been all lonely. First of, my package arrived about 3 days after I ordered, which was fantastic!! It was wrapped sooooo cutely. Also, I love that it's a mini collection so you get a feel for what their products are like. Here's what I got:
all that at $5...not bad at all.
annnnnd they also threw these in:

I'll have to post pictures in multiple sessions because I refuse to wash it off. Here's what the green and orange pigments look like on my skin:
No primer, just the pigment. I'm in love with the green! I'd been searching for the perfect green and this may be it. The orange is gorgeous as well. It's hard to find a good orange, but I'm fond of this one. Look out for more photos in the next few days, I'll try to have pics of all the colors by this weekend.

Skeleton Hands

I had these little plastic skeleton hands lying around and I finally got around to doing something with them. I'm not sure when exactly I'll wear these out, but I think they're fun!

Lush Charity Pot

After a long, cold morning at work yesterday I decided to pamper myself a bit. I took and nice long hot shower and used the Charity Pot lotion all over afterwards. When I woke up, my skin felt fantastic! It was just what I needed because my skin was chapped and a little itchy from the cold weather. I've also been keeping it in my purse to use on my hands during break. The smell isn't for everyone though. I love it, though, because the scent is very subtle.

Grand Opening of Tokyo Japanese Lifestyle

This new store opened up in the Roseville Galleria so I paid a little visit after work. They have some pretty cute stuff there. It's pretty small and the selection isn't as exciting as I expected but I still managed to find some goodies. I picked up some little containers with pink hearts on them. They came in a pack of 3. I ordered some makeup from Glittersniffer Cosmetics this morning so I plan to put some of the pigments in these containers. I can't wait for my order to come in!! While I was at the mall, I stopped by Lush and picked up a Charity Pot. They now have a smaller size which sells for $5 and can fit in your purse. I also went into Spencer's for a minute and found the love of my life! It's a Starlight pillow pet thing! If you don't know already, Starlight is Rainbow Brite's horse. After a stressful day at work, it's nice to have something to cuddle up with. Here's a picture of all my new goodies:

and here's a close-up of the little plastic containers:

Nifty Card Box

No make-up posts for a few days :/ My skin hates cold weather so it's peeling and acting up. Instead, I'll be sharing something crafty. My great aunt suggested that I make a little box for my sister's birthday party for her to place the cards she received as gifts. It helped keep them all in one place.
Here's what I put together:

alba acnedote

I've struggled with acne for far too long now and I saw this and thought I'd give it a try. It's a spot treatment that claims to give you clearer skin in just 4 hours. I had a nasty breakout a few days ago and thanks to this, my skin looks a lot better. I can't say for sure how this will affect my skin in the long run, but I may try out the rest of this line. It's by one of the few cruelty-free lines available in drug stores and a great price for being just that.

Becoming a Sugar Skull

Happy Halloween!!! Here are some step by step photos I took while getting ready for an event. The purple eyeshadow I used is Gravity by Urban Decay and I'm wearing purple blush by Jordana in Raspberry Ice. The lipstick is Madrid by Napoleon Perdis.
The event was yesterday and even though it was very small, I still enjoyed myself. There were many beautiful alters to look at. There was one dedicated to Cantinflas, who was a Mexican actor and I thought it was very cute. Here's a picture of that:
I hope everyone has a wonderful day and I'll be posting a lot more in the next few days so keep an eye out.

Lily Munster

Just entered a Munsters make-up contest on Facebook. I had so much fun putting this look together. I love the Munsters. I have an uncle that has called me Eddie Munster since I was younger because of my widow's peak. Well...wish me luck!

Painful Pimples

I sometimes get super painful and large pimples on my face and they make me so uncomfortable. They usually are on my cheek so it hurts to even smile sometimes. I've read that green tea is good for minimizing these and I decided to give it a try since I drink a cup every morning anyway. This is very simple, all you do is brew for tea as usual and lay the bag over the irritated area for a few minutes. My skin already feels a lot better and it feels like the pimple might be smaller.

Shiny!

I'm still a little girl at heart and I absolutely love wearing glitter. Sometimes, though, I feel like I'm wearing too much and I feel kind of silly. I have met my new favorite body spray. It's Midnight Pomegranate by Bath and Body Works, which I love, and adds a subtle sparkle to your skin. The Halloween bottle adds a cute touch too. I'm totally in love with this stuff and I'm going to stock up now that it's on sale.

Pure MAGIC!

I have been using the same face wash for over 2 years and I have my reasons. I first discovered this soap through a friend in high school. She recommended I use it on piercings. It definitely helped the healing process. I read the bottle and it said you can use it for just about anything. I have kind of oily skin, so I figured I'd try it as a face wash. First of all, I noticed that it smells very clean and refreshing and by the time I had rinsed my face off, I felt clean and refreshed. It's good for removing make-up and just about anything else you need to rid your skin of. My skin has improved a lot since then and I have only used this product consistently since then. Best of all, it's inexpensive and completely VEGAN!! I highly recommend Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap. It's available at Target, Trader Joe's and online:

Homecoming

Last Saturday was my little sister's homecoming dance. She was patient enough to let me do her make-up again this year. She looked so pretty! I felt proud dropping her off. This is what I came up with:

I started off by using Urban Decay's Primer Potion in Sin. Then I used the new Book of Shadows for her eyeshadow. I used Sin on her lids, Gravity on her crease, and Zephyr in the inner corners of her eyelids. I gave her the cat-eye look with Urban Decay's 24/7 liquid eyeliner in Perversion and topped it all off with some make-up setting spray by Urban Decay called All Nighter. I love this stuff! After a night of dancing and then sleeping in, here's what her make-up looked like in the morning:

Breast Cancer Awareness month

Every year, many companies do their part to raise awareness about breast cancer and help contribute money to help those in need. This year, I decided to buy a couple things. Last year, Ulta had Bedhead hairsprays available at a lower price for the month of October. I was very happy to see that they did so again this year so I picked up a can. Also at Ulta, they have OPI's shatter nail polish in this very pretty hot pink color called Pink of Hearts. I grabbed a bottle of that as well because I'd been curious about it. I'm very pleased with it and love that it works beautifully. I also picked up some pink safety pins at Jo-ann and stuck them on some of my clothes and things. Here is a picture of my nails right now, I know I paint nails like a little girl, but oh well.

Mascara and Vegetarianism.

Yesterday was National Hug a Vegetarian Day. I've been a vegetarian for a little over 2 years now. It's really not that hard to eat healthy this way despite popular belief. I recommend this lifestyle for anyone who cares about animals as much as I do.
On another note...I had a free sample of Sephora's Full Action Extreme Effect Mascara and decided to try it  out for once. It dries a lot faster than my Almay mascara but I'm not sure if this will be my new favorite.

Inspired by Lavender Town

I think I've been playing way too much Pokemon lately. I want there to be more tasks in Lavender Town because I never want to leave there! But anyway...here's what I did with my eyes today.

I used an eyeshadow quad by Ulta that contains the perfect combination of colors. I used Bloom on my eyelid, Plum Noir on the crease, Naked on the brow bone and Ice Queen for the inner corners. I used a dark purple liquid liner by Kat Von D on my bottom lash line called Homie. I was kind of disappointed with this. The color is so pretty but the liquid liner goes on kind of chunky and the applicator is hard to control. Good thing I found this on clearance!

Oddish?

I just cut my boyfriend's hair tonight and this is what it looks like right now. I feel like he kinda looks like an Oddish.

R2-D2 T-shirt and the new Urban Decay Book of Shadows

I'm so excited! I bought the new Urban Decay Book of Shadows and I absolutely love it. There's a nice variety of colors in it and I'm looking forward to playing with it more. Today I felt like matching my eye make-up with my R2-D2 t-shirt just for fun.
This is the shirt:

...and here is what I ended up with:

I used Midnight Cowgirl on my lid and Hijack on the crease both from the Book of Shadows. Then I used the 24/7 liquid liner in Perversion which was included on my top lash line. On the bottom lash line I used Urban Decay's liquid liner in Acid Rain. I use Almay's one coat mascara regularly but I'm looking for something that dries a little faster because my lashes tend to just get stuck together and defeat the purpose of curling them.

Make Your Own Sugar Scrub!!

My skin was super dried out and rash-y on my arms from washing dishes. I looked for a few recipes online and none of them really sounded appealing to me so I tried making my own. I loved the results and it smells super sweet!  And best of all, it takes almost no time to make.
You'll need:

  • brown sugar
  • almond oil
  • small container to keep it in

Put about a drop or two of almond oil into the container per spoonful of sugar. If you want it to be smoother, you can add 3 or 4 per spoonful. Use as you please and enjoy :)

Who's that Pokemon?

It's Lucario! These are pictures of my little sister before SacAnime. We had to dye her hair black for the costume. I helped her do her make-up and hair. I used Bright Fuchsia pigment from M.A.C.'s Spring 2011 Wonder Woman collection and just some black eyeliner to create this simple, but cute look.

Urban Decay Revolution

This is probably my new favorite tool! It's a bit pricey, but totally worth it. My lashes are wider than other curlers allow me to work with so the bar-free feature was perfect for me. No more pinching or crimping :) You can get yours here:

http://www.urbandecay.com/the-revolution/303,default,pd.html?start=1&cgid=11

The curler itself is very cute and small. This works just fine for me, but if you have larger hands, you may have a hard time with it.

the beginning

I've been asked to start making a series of make-up tutorial videos and such for a little while now but unfortunately i don't have a decent quality video camera. I do, however, have a wonderful camera I can take pictures with to make up for it. So here goes nothing...
